I had the chance to photograph a good buddy of mine Brandon Bryant competing at his first powerlifting meet here in Oklahoma City at a United States Powerlifting Association event. It was definitely a fun day with way more than I expected with a Crossfit competition, Strongman competition, Bodybuilding competion and car show all going on at the same time.
Squat - Final Lift Total 465lbs
Bench - Final Lift Total 320lbs
Dead Lift - Final Lift Total 530lbs
Darren came back to OKC for the holidays so Blair, Nelou, and I tagged along for a nice day of exploring an old, abandoned train diesel repair shop.
Sometimes you simply find yourself out wandering around and stumble upon a rap video shoot. Act like you are supposed to be there and just keep shooting.
Recently got together with fellow photographers Darren, Eric, Erin, Blair, Shannon, Dolan and Alexander for one last exploration before Darren moves to Ohio. Had a great time and shot some good film. Night included:
- being asked to leave an abandoned farm home site
- abandoned school yard
- beautiful sunset
- young farmer who was watching a Miley Cyrus concert in his tractor (no lie)
Lots going on in Guthrie this weekend. Started off Friday night over at Union Tacos for yet another solid meal. From there I made it over to Hoboken Coffee Roasters to grab some coffee and take in a great performance by Denver Duncan. This guy seriously blew me away with his ability to play multiple genres of music along with mixing in some good humor along the way.
Went back Saturday night for another Make Guthrie Weird event. Great turnout, along with several really good bands. Check in on their site for future events.
I took a quick road trip to hang out with Darren and Eric who were camping out at Roman Nose State Park over Memorial Day weekend. Darren had a location that he had previously been to that he wanted to go explore again. This is by far the best abandoned farm house location I've been to so far. Enjoy
Recently attended the first of two Instameets on back to back weekends. I had a film shoot planned downtown on the following night so I decided to travel light and shoot with only my Fuji X100S. Great little camera. Small and unassuming, yet it grabs great images with ease. Big thanks to Jonathan Burkhart for putting this meetup together.
Went out on a quick photo walk with fellow photographers Darren, Blair, and Shannon. Shot a little bit of film and then switched to digital after dark. Good night with good people.
Attended the World Wide Instameet earlier this year in Guthrie, OK. These events are always a great time with roughly 60 attendees ranging from professional photographers to everyday mobile photographers.
